Now that the economy is improving, people are spending more time shopping, especially when it comes to boxing day and New Years sales. Many people take advantage of the great post holiday discounts on electronics. Items like TVs and DVD Players are often priced much lower after the busy holiday season. Festivus - An Actual Holiday Celebrated on December 23!

Festivus started out as a joke, but has turned into an actual holiday. Daniel O'Keefe, a screenwriter for the Seinfeld television show shared his O'Keefe family traditions that were invented as a celebration of his father's first date which eventually led to marriage. The family held the original Festivus event in February starting in the 1960's, but after the Seinfeld Festivus episode the date changed to December 23. The strange secular holiday has become a way to celebrate the holidays without pressure or commercialism.

Each December 23rd each year, everyone who celebrates "Festivus" follows the traditions explained in the Seinfeld Festivus show.



The December holiday celebrates the winter holiday season without all of the usual traditions. No trees, no gifts, etc. The memorable Seinfeld line..."Festivus for the rest of us" was something the writer's O'Keefe family had said.

Festivus traditions include decorating with an aluminum "Festivus Pole," telling others how they have disappointed you throughout the year during "Airing of Grievances," and wrestling with one another during "Feats of Strength." Calling everyday events "Festivus Miracles" is also a part of the Festivus tradition.

So Happy Festivus to everyone out their celebrating the non-holiday holiday...I'd personally rather sit by my lit Christmas tree than wrestle beside a pole, but holiday cheer comes in all shapes and forms!

Medium Allison Dubois Part of Rich Housewives Fight

Actor Kelsey Grammer's wife Camille Grammer hosted a special dinner party for her "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" costars things got pretty dramatic. Kelsey Grammer's friend famed psychic Allison Dubois was one of the guests at the party. The television show "Medium" is based on Allison Dubois' psychic abilities and work with police. The real life Allison Dubois is just as outspoken as her TV character and told guest Kyle Richards that she has achieved nothing in her life.

Things got really heated when host Camille Grammer mentioned that she recognized guest Faye Resnick from her Playboy spread. This of course could only happen in the rich housewife world.

The housewives kept bringing up the fact that Allison Dubois was smoking an electronic cigarette during the dinner party fight. Don Meredith Death at Age 71 - Original Monday Night Football Broadcaster

Don Meredith died of brain hemorrhage on Sunday, November 5, 2010 at the age of 72. Meredith was a professional football player and one of the original of the "Monday Night Football" ABC broadcasters. He was born on April 10, 1938 in Mount Vernon, Texas. Don Meredith lapsed into a coma after the hemorrhage. His wife Susan and their daughter were by his side at the time of his death.
