Baby Matters Recalls Nap Nanny Portable Baby Seats After Infant Death

Baby Matters has recalled 30,000 Nap Nanny portable seats after a Royal Oak Michigan infant died. The 4-month year old girl was strapped in the Nap Nanny which was placed in her crib. She was found hanging over the side of the portable chair, trapped in between the Nap Nanny chair and the crib bumper. It is believed that the baby died from suffocation.

The portable chair is not meant to be placed into a crib or playpen or placed on a high surface such as a change table or counter top. Although there have been 22 other reports of babies who were found hanging over the side of the Nap Nanny, this is the first death. Parents who own a first generation Nap Nanny chair (without "D" rings) should discontinue use immediately and follow recall procedures.

Good Samaritans Save Woman After She Falls Onto Subway Train Tracks

A group of good Samaritans in Atlanta, Georgia worked together to save a visually impaired woman, after she fell onto the subway tracks, right as a train entered the station. The woman walked directly off of the subway platform, injuring herself as she fell. Within seconds other commuters were waving for the subway train to stop, as they tried to get her off of the tracks before the train struck. The train operator stopped just a few feet away from the woman and a man quickly jumped down to lift her off of the tracks. Here's a CNN News video clip with more on the story.

Pink Accident Video - Star Falls Off Stage After Harness Breaks

Pink is known for her awesome concerts which include plenty of fantastic stunts. She often flies up in the air with the help of a harness. Thankfully just was just getting ready for taking off when this harness malfunctioned. Pink was getting ready to fly out over the audience at the beginning of the song "So What" and ended up falling directly off stage.



The concert had to end and Pink was taken to the hospital to get checked out. Although she is bruised up and sore, the singer is otherwise alright and apologized to her German concert fans via Twitter. Pink handled the fall really well, no tears, just a few f-words. George Steinbrenner died today at the age of 80 after suffering a massive heart attack. Steinbrenner was born in on July 4, 1930 and became the main owner and managing partner of the New York Yankees in 1973. He was nicknamed "The Boss" and "Manager George." Colton Harris-Moore a.k.a. the "Barefoot Bandit" is still on the run from U.S. authorities after two years. Colton Harris-Moore was sent to juvenile detention in 2007 at the age of 12. He later managed to escape while staying in a halfway house and has managed to elude authorities ever since.

During his time on the run the Barefoot Bandit has committed numerous burglaries and has stolen cars, boats and even small airplanes (which he has learned how to fly). Despite his criminal backgrount, the 6 ft 5 in teen actually has a number of fans who are routing for him. Colton is currently somewhere in the Bahamas and authorities continue to search for his whereabouts.

Comfortable Baby Carrier For Infant and Toddlers

Looking back, I regret never getting a better baby carrier when my kids were babies and toddlers. The second hand baby carrier that I bought was good for about a half an hour and then it seemed like the baby weighed a ton and you had to take it off. I spent a lot of time dragging around the stroller everywhere I went, and I usually ended up pushing the stroller with one arm while carrying the baby in the other. At least the stroller was good for carrying the diaper bag.

I recently heard about the Ergo baby carrier which is supposed to be a comfortable baby carrier for both parent and child. It's lightweight and judging by the reviews I've read it looks like it would be a good baby shower or new parent gift. Senior Editor of Midweast Affairs for CNN News is leaving her job after leaving a controversial message on Twitter. Octavia Nasr, who has spend 25 years in the news industry, sent out a tweet saying,

 “Sad to hear of the passing of Sayyed Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah… One of Hezbollah’s giants I respect a lot.”

This Twitter Tweet cost Octavia Nasr her job at CNN News. We may have freedom of speech but saying whatever you think online could have a negative impact on your life.
