New Years Eve 2009 - Blue Moon - A Rare Event

This New Years Eve we'll get a special view of the moon, which will be a "full moon" for the second time this month.

Tonight the world will be experiencing a "Lunar Eclipse" but most people are referring to this December 31, 2009 moon as a "blue moon" which is a rare event. The next "blue moon" won't be until the year 2028 so make sure you get a glimpse of tonight's moon events.

The New Years Eve moon will not be a bright blue, but more of a "bluish color." The change in color of the moon is caused by dust or smoke particles in the air. The moon may also appear to be an orange or yellowish color (but looks like everyone is hoping for blue color for New Years).

I say everyone should play the "Blue Moon Song" at midnight! Happy New Year everyone, I'll be back in 2010!

Erik Gates Of Mythbusters Dies In Freak Fall - December 2009

Amateur rocket expert Erik Gates who appeared on the Discovery Channel show "Mythbusters" has died after an accidental fall off of a building.

Erik Gates was working with a colleague on the rooftop of the Xirrus Inc Building at 2101 Corporate Center Drive in Newburry Park when he accidentally fell 30 feet down. Gates was 47-year-old.

McNeil PPC INc., the maker of Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplets, has announced a Tylenol Arthritis recall today, December 29, 2009.

The recall was necessary after some people using Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplet (100 count with red EZ Open Caps) experienced a "moldy, mildew-like odor" from the pills which has been linked to symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain.

Although the defective Tylenol Arthritis pills have not led to any serious health problems the product should of course not be used.

The mysterious musty odor is believed to be the result of a breakdown of the fungicide 2,4,6-tribromophenol which is used to treat wooden pallets where packaging materials are stored. When fungi bread down the fungicide it produces the chemical 2,4,6-tribromoanisole.

Brittany Murphy Dies At 32 Leaves Behind Husband Simon Monjack

I was shocked to find out that one of my favorite young actresses, Brittany Murphy, died today, December 20, 2009, at the age of 32. Like everyone else I'm wondering what happened to the star, but so far police have not released any further information other than the confirmation of Brittany Murphy's death.

Brittany Murphy once dated Ashton Kutcher but ended up marrying British screenwriter Simon Monjack in May of 2007. Murphy started acting at the age of 14 and starred in numerous successful movies including 8 Mile, Girl Interrupted, Uptown Girls, Sin City, Little Black Book, The Groomsmen, and Clueless.

Murphy was a wonderful actress and she's definitely going to be missed by many.

Dean Sheremet has filed for divorce from his wife of nearly 8 years, singer, LeAnne Rimes. Dean Sheremet and LeAnne Rimes separated three months ago after an alleged affair between LeAnne Rimes and actor Eddie Ciberian became public knowledge.

Cincinnati Bengals football player Chris Henry, 26, died early Thursday morning December 17, 2009 after falling from the bed of pickup truck during a fight with his fiancee, Loleini Tonga.

According to early news reports Chris Henry attempted to jump into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee drove off during an argument. Henry died from the injuries he received from the fall. Chris Henry and his fiancee were planning to marry in March of 2010.

I just saw this report on CNN.com about a mother and son who run their own legalized marijuana farm. I find it pretty confusing how one person can be sent to jail for selling marijuana and another person can grow it as a business opportunity. I always thought that medical marijuana was grown in some kind of secured government facility but I guess I was wrong.

Prostitutes Added To Tiger Woods Women List

I seriously can't believe the amount of women who are coming forward to say that they've had an affair with Tiger Woods. I think it's up to over a dozen at this point and it seems like more women are added to the growing list each day.

I guess I shouldn't be shocked (but I am) that Tiger Woods allegedly hired prostitutes, even two at time according to the latest rumors. But after porn star Holly Sampson admitted to having a relationship with Tiger Woods, why not add in some prostitutes as well.

Perhaps the news of all of these affairs wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't bought the image of Tiger Woods being the perfect faithful husband and father. Damn, he seemed like such a great role model. This guy just shouldn't have gotten married, and marketed himself as a partying playboy instead.

Things have become so horrible for Tiger Woods that he's announced that he's taking a break from golf on his official website saying:

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person."

Woods wife Elin Nordegren is rumored to be moving out and hopefully on with her life. It may take a little while but eventually the Tiger Woods "sex maniac" story will die down eventually and perhaps he'll be able to get back to his career as a professional golfer.

But his fans will never look up to him the way they used to, and his family likely won't either.

Just about every year I rent a table at the local craft shows to make some extra money for Christmas. Selling at craft shows is a lot of fun, and you don't even have to be crafty you only need to be creative.

Although some vendors make their own jewelery, birdhouses, decorations, etc., many sell items through companies such as SMC. Some craft shows allow you to sell your baking which people love to buy, while other shows won't allow baked goods, so if you're thinking of selling your famous homemade cookies check first.

I find that the sellers who are able to accept credit card purchases make a lot more than the cash only vendors.

A huge snowstorm has hit North America beginning yesterday in the U.S. and now this morning here in Canada. The mix of snow and rain is making for some dangerous driving conditions and of course many accidents.

You can tell the weather is bad when the top 20 Google searches this morning are for parents searching for bus and school closures. So how do you know if it's a snow day. Check your local weather channel or local radio station for a list of nearby school closures or bus cancellations.

If you're in the United States you could try a website like Cancellations.com to see if you can find out any information. If your child's school has a website, they may have information posted, such as which radio station to tune into for school closures.

Tiger Woods Ambulance - The Latest Breaking News

As multiple women step forward to announce that they too have had an affair with professional golfer Tiger Woods you wouldn't think things could get much worse for the Woods family.

But in a strange twist to an already strange unfolding story a woman presumed to be in her fifties was transported by ambulance from Tiger Woods home to the hospital and was later released.

So far the woman's identity is unknown but some are guessing that it could be Tiger Woods mother-in-law, the mother of Elin Nordegren.

Elin Nordegren is currently in the process of moving out of the family home she shares with Woods. Not surprising since Tiger Woods list of extramarital affairs is growing on a daily basis.

Since Tiger Woods public apology for his "transgressions," it seems like there's a new Tiger Woods mistress coming forward every day.

The latest woman to come forward in the Tiger Woods affair scandal is British porn star Holly Sampson who is 36-years-old. "Holly Sampson" has also been known as "Nicolette Foster" and "Andrea Michaels."

Tiger Woods wife must be absolutely devastated as day after day more blond bombshells are revealed as Tiger Woods "alleged" mistresses. As if it isn't bad enough that he's betrayed he, if it's true he's slept with this many woman he could have even put her at risk for sexual diseases.

It's shocking that Tiger Woods went from being a role model to his young fans, someone who seemed like a loving family man, to a serial cheater overnight.

At this point I doubt his career will ever recover. But in an attempt to win back the public's attention Tiger Woods plans to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show to tell his side of the story. I can't wait to see that show!

Just when you can't imagine anything getting worse for Tiger Woods who is already under scrutiny for allegedly having up to 5 different affairs, another woman, "Cori Rist" has been named as another one of Tiger Woods "alleged" mistresses.

Cori Rist has been described as a beautiful woman by someone who claims they know of the affair between she and Tiger Woods but her pictures have yet to reach the Internet.

For now "Cori Rist" is staying quiet but who knows what she may reveal after the tabloids make their offers for her story. According to rumors Tiger Woods paid off alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel was paid off by Woods to keep her mouth shut.

With so many different woman being revealed as mistresses (I think there are already six) it looks like Tiger Woods may never recover the damage to his character.

Wal-Mart Greeter Gets Punched In Face For No Reason

When I saw this CNN news clip this morning I couldn't believe it. I love the Wal-Mart greeters, here in Canada they're always pleasant and have a big smile on their face when you walk in the store door.

So it's a bit shocking to hear that a U.S. man just walked up to a Wal-Mart greeter and punched him in the face. Being rude is one thing (seems like everyone is getting ruder these days) but these random acts of violence are a bit scary.

I think the report said that "intoxication" was part of the problem. Let me guess the violent man who was intoxicated "drove" to Wal-Mart. Seriously what is wrong with people these days, I mean, how can it not be safe to be a Wal-Mart greeter?

Some people wonder what the big deal is, why would someone have to go on a television show to reveal their sexuality to the world.

I believe that the reason is that majority of lesbian and gay people spend years hiding their sexuality from family, friends, and the world so they won't be judged.

By openly revealing their sexual preferences they free themselves in a sense, and by revealing themselves publicly gay celebrities also free themselves from the threat of tabloid paparrazi revealing their lifestyle first.

How would you feel if you were hiding something and had paparazzi lurking around? If you still don't think it's a big deal than that means the world is evolving. Remember when "Ellen DeGeneres" came out? Her TV Show was cancelled shortly afterwards due to declined ratings.
