3.8 million Toyata and Lexus Cars Recalled - September 2009

Millions of Toyata and Lexus cars have been recalled today because of the danger of faulty floor mats.

Toyata is recalling approximately 3.8 million cars in the United States after becoming aware that removable floor mats may cause the accelerators to get stuck resulting in a crash.

A 45-year-old California Highway Patrol officer and three others were killed in a Lexus ES 350 crash this year after the floor mat caused the accelerator to become stuck.

Ray LaHood, the U.S Transportation Secretary, stated "There is an urgent matter, for everyone's sake, we strongly urge owners of these vehicles to remove mats or other obstacles that could lead to unintended acceleration."

Patrick Swayze Dies At The Age Of 57

"Dirty Dancing" star, actor, "Patrick Swayze" has passed away today, September 14, 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He leaves behind his wife Lisa Niemi, 53, whom he married in 1975. Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi met in 1970 when Lisa was sixteen, and the couple referred to one another as "soul mates."

Lisa Niemi and Patrick Swayze are both professional dancers and starred together in the movie "One Last Dance." They also wrote a book together titled "The Time of My Life."

Kanye West decided it would be a great idea to promote Beyonce by grabbing the microphone away from Taylor Swift who was happily beginning her thank you speech for "best female music video" and telling the audience that Beyonce's video was actually the best.

Has he seen Taylor Swift's award winning video, it's awesome. Beyonce attempted to save the day by calling singer Taylor Swift back up on to the stage after she'd won an award.

Yes, Chris Brown has apologized for the assault but his public apology doesn't change the fact that he physically abused Rihanna. Somehow it seems like he expects people to understand his point of view. But why should people care about Chris Brown's feelings, it was Rihanna who got hurt, and it's Rihanna's well being that everyone should be concerned for.

King Brothers - Alex and Derek King Today Show VIDEO

Brothers Derek and Alex King have been released from prison. The King brothers killed their father with a baseball bat at the ages of 12 and 13.

The boys made headlines in 2001 when they faced adult charges and received a 7 year and 8 year sentence.

Alex, 20, and Derek, 21 have reached the end of their sentence and are reaching out to the public with news interviews.

Although they have spoken about their time in prison they have not revealed why they killed their father or whether or not a neigbor who was a sex offender had anything to do with the boys choice to murder, which has been suspected.

The King brothers have not seen each other since their sentencing but have reconnected and plan to live nearby one another and go to the same school.

You Tube Video Pokes Fun At Canadian Health Care

I found this funny video on You Tube about the state of Canadian health care. I know that here in Ontario, Canada I've experienced much of what they've expressed in the video clip.

My family doctor moved away without bothering to notify his patients which means waiting until another doctor is available. At our local walk in clinic it's a minimum of 2 hours wait unless of course you're one of the first people there in the morning line up outside the clinic doors.

The last time I went to the hospital emergency room it was a 6 hour wait, so unless it was an extreme emergency I would not go back. But hey, it is free.

I can't decide which is better, low cost health insurance in America or free health care in Canada. What do you think?

The Jackson family and around 200 of Michael Jackson's closest friends gathered to say their final goodbyes. Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, had the final say at where her son would be buried and chose a guarded crypt worth an estimated $14,000 which the Jackson estate paid for.

Ex-Manson Follower Susan Atkins Denied Parole

61-year-old Susan Atkins played a key role in the Manson murders that took place 40 years ago. It was 21-year-old Susan Atkins that held down 8 month pregnant actress Sharon Tate while another Manson Family member stabbed her to death. Atkins showed no remorse while on trial for her involvment in the murders.

Susan Atkins was originally sentenced to death but her sentenced was later commuted to life in prison. Atkins has been serving time in prison since October, 1, 1969. She has one son that she had while in the "Manson Family" but lost parental custody of him after she went to prison.

Susan Atkins has married twice while in prison and has written the book "Child of Satan, Child of God: Her Own Story" which talks about her time inside the "Manson Family." Atkins who is very ill with terminal brain cancer will be up for parole again in three years.

Garrido Rape Victim Katie Hall Tells Her Story On Larry King Live

Katie Hall knows what kind of horror Philip Garrido can inflict on a woman because she was a victim of Garrido in 1976.

Hall was 25-years-old when she stopped to pick up a few things at the grocery store, when got into her car to leave the parking lot Philip Garrido knocked on her window to ask for a ride.

Katie Hall tells Larry King that giving Philip Garrido a ride that day was probably the worst mistake of her life. Philip Garrido assaulted Katie Hall then handcuffed her and took her to a remote Reno mini-warehouse where he repeatedly raped over an 8 hour period.

Luckily for Katie Hall she was rescued when a police officer came over the the mini-warehouse at 3:00 a.m. to see what was going on.

Philip Garrido was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the kidnapping and rape of Katie Hall but only served 11 years before being released on parole. Thanks to his early release he had the chance to kidnap 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991, keeping her captive for the past 18 years.

The Duggars Are Pregnant Again - Baby Number 19 Is On The Way

The Duggar family already has 18 children and their own TLC reality television show "18 Kids and Counting" but there is always room for another Duggar.

Michelle Duggar, 42, and her husband Jim Bob, 44 just announced that they are pregnant again with their 19 child.

Michelle and Jim Bob's oldest child Joshua Duggar and his wife Anna (who also comes from a large family) are expecting their first child in a month.

Joshual Duggar's little brother or sister is due this spring so they'll only be months apart in age. Michelle and Jim Bob married when she was 17 and he was 19 and of course they've been having babies every since. Naming each Duggar child with a name beginning with the letter J.
