Today is the day of the big "Fox News" launch of the new website TheFoxNation.com. The March 30, 2009 launch of Fox Nation is the biggest online news today and everyone wants to check out the new site.

I visited TheFoxNation.com to see what all of the buzz was about. I saw an article that I was interested in reading but the page wouldn't load. I sat on the site waiting for 10 minutes and couldn't get an article to load (I tried several times). All I could do was read stupid comments on articles that I had no access too. So far the site sucks as much as the following site promo video but it's in Beta Phase so perhaps there's still hope:

Topping today's list of hottest Google Search Trends is "3 Day Potty Training." Parents are searching for the website 3daypottytraining.com where they offer parents an Ebook. I'm not even going to link to the website because after reading through it I thought it was pretty ridiculous.

Potty training should be fun, I've potty trained my four children, each of them within a week and I didn't need to follow a firm set of instructions from a book. I just made it fun and read them potty training books like "A Potty for Me!: A Lift-the-Flap Instruction Manual" and celebrated every time my child used the potty. (By celebrating I mean that the whole family would join in clapping, cheering, and jumping up and down - basically just making a big deal over the potty accomplishment).

Some parents give their child a sticker or cheerios every time they go potty to reinforce their good behavior. Does it really matter if a child learns how to potty train within 3 days, I think the key is to make it a fun and relaxing experience for both parent and child.

Actor Willie Aames was once on top of the world starring in the hit shows "Eight Is Enough" and "Charles In Charge" but after going bankrupt the former teen sex idol is reduced to selling off his household items in a neighborhood garage sale yesterday, March 26, 2009.

I think Willie Aames, 48, still has the star power to hold a high end auction to make the cash he needs so desperately, it's extremely sad to see him put his teenage memorabilia outside of his Kansas home for others to grab for a few bucks but he felt that's what he needed to do as his home faces foreclosure.

Like so many other child actors Aames career went downhill after he became addicted to cocaine and alcohol. Willie Aames filed for bankruptcy in 2008 owing $350,000 and separated from his wife. He tried to commit suicide in 2008 on Thanksgiving Day.

Willie Aames should consider setting up a website to ask for donations, he gave a lot to his fans during the height of his career and I'm sure that his fans would be willing to give something back to him in his time of need.

Member Of Angels In Waiting Says Nadya Suleman Doesn't Care About Her Children

I couldn't resist the temptation to watch today's Dr. Phil Show even though it's the fifteenth billion show on the subject of octuplet mom Nadya Suleman. Every time Nadya Suleman makes a decision Dr. Phil dedicates a complete hour to the woman. People are wondering whether Nadya Suleman is obsessed with Angelina Jolie, I've been wondering if Dr. Phil is obsessed with Nadya Suleman.

Today's March 25, 2009 show discussed whether or not Nadya Suleman was wrong to fire the "Angels In Waiting" volunteers that were set up for her by celebrity attorney Gloria Allred.

Nadya Suleman said that she felt like a stranger in her own home with the "Angels In Waiting" staff in the house. She also said they made her feel very uncomfortable.

One of the members of the "Angels In Waiting" spoke out on today's show saying that after being in the home for a week she feels that Nadya Suleman doesn't care about her kids and cares more about the fame, paparazzi, and shopping.

It's hard to know which side to believe because from what I've seen of Gloria Allred and the volunteers they do seem like they're on the attack. It's obvious they dislike Nadya Suleman so it's no wonder they are making her feel uncomfortable.

I think that everyone should get off Suleman's back and give her the time to prove whether or not she's the devoted mother that she portrays herself to be but with this much media interest that's unlikely to happen. Dr. Phil stated at the end of the show that it's time for the media (including the Dr. Phil Show) to move on and let the Suleman family be. A few minutes later tomorrow's Dr. Phil Show was announced, and you guessed it, it's all about Nadya Suleman. Looks like the moving on sentiment didn't last too long.

Octomom Fires Dr. Phil Nannies - March 24 2009

Nadya Suleman originally planned to have a team of volunteer nannies from the "Angels In Waiting" organization to provide around the clock care for her eight newborn infants. Dr. Phil told Nadya Suleman about the free service during one of her recent Dr. Phil interviews.

After bringing home the first two of the octuplets from the hospital Nadya has decided to fire the volunteers and go with her own privately hired nannies. Thanks to the massive amount of publicity she's received she can afford to pay for her own help.

I have to admit I think this is a good decision on Nadya Suleman's part. While watching the Dr. Phil show I had the feeling that this volunteer group was ready to sweep in an care for the children under their own terms and Nadya better do exactly as they said.

People can criticize Suleman all they want for her previous bad choices but she is still the octuplets mother and has the right to parent them under her own terms. She's surrounded by people right now who are watching her every move so I'm sure she'll be doing her best to parent all of her kids well. Nadya and her 14 children should have the right to be comfortable in their own home.

CNN Reports - Recession and Haircuts - Oh The Tragedy

There's nothing funny about the current economic recession but I did think this CNN video clip was pretty darn hilarious. While some people can't afford to by groceries for their children or are worried if they'll ever attend college others are talking about the horror of infrequent haircuts.

Our family cut back on hairdressing costs by going less often and leaving our family hairstylist to go to the much cheaper First Choice Haircutters (which is available in both U.S. and Canada).

Since people are cutting back on anything they can hairdressers are suffering just as all businesses are right now. Hairdressers who give really good deals on services will probably keep making money during the recession. After all the reason people stop going to the hairdresser is because they charge a lot in the first place.

I do feel sorry for the store owner but I don't think it tops the lists of recession suffering, check it out:

Oprah Winfrey's New Puppy Close To Death

Oprah Winfrey's new puppy Sadie nearly died after coming down with the parvovirus. Oprah recently introduced the Blond Cockerspaniel which she adopted from a local animal shelter to her show audience, encouraging viewers to choose adoption the next time they purchase a pet.

The canine parvovirus is a contagious virus spread from dog to dog through direct contact or indirect contact (feces). The virus is much like the feline version which affects cats.

I recently saw the television documentary "Half Ton Son" which features a teenager named Billy Robbins who weighs over 500 pounds. It's an incredibly sad story and it's obvious that his mother is a huge part of Billy's weight problem. Throughout the documentary I felt as though it was the mother's goal to keep him her "little baby" forever which gave me the creeps.

They share all of their shopping secrets in their book "America's Cheapest Family Gets You Right on the Money: Your Guide to Living Better."

Dr. Phil gave the family a thrift store shopping challenge by giving them $75.00 for an outfit for each of them. The family bought 13 items for a couple of dollars over the budget and demonstrated that thrift store shopping is the way to go when you're looking to save money.

After a thrift show fashion show demonstrated that you can look fashionable on a budget some helpful thrift store tips were shared on the Dr. Phil show:

1) Know prices before visiting the thrift store to be sure you're getting a good buy.

2) Check out electronics to make sure their working, and check if there is a 24 hour return policy on purchased items.

3) Look for a thrift store area in a high end area where you'll find high end items and designer clothing.

4) Don't forget to donate your used items to the thrift shop when your done for them so someone else can get a great deal.

Dr. Seuss Birthday - What Did The Children's Writer Look Like?

I've been a big fan of Ted Geisel (Dr. Seuss) since using his books to read my first words as a four-year-old child. Now as a mother I have just about every Dr. Seuss book imaginable sitting on my children's book shelf and they are still my favorites. But until today I'd never seen a picture of the writer behind some of the world's best children's books, he was a bit of a mystery.

Ted Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 and died September 24, 1991. Since today is Geisel's birthday fans are taking the chance to talk about his most famous books and Google has even created a special design for their search page to celebrate the day. I know that Dr. Seuss is famous for the classic children's book "The Cat in the Hat" but our personal family favorite is "The Foot Book," the most read Dr. Seuss book over the years and a great one for teaching left and right!

I consider Ted Geisel to be one of the best artists and poets of all time. His work truly sparks the imagination. If Geisel were alive today he would be turning 105. Happy birthday Dr. Seuss!

Britney Spears Circus Tour is beginning on March 3, 2009 and tickets to some locations are already sold out! Britney's 7th concert tour looks like it will be her best ever. She's got a line up of fantastic songs, magic tricks, and special guest group "Pussycat Dolls."

She'll be playing in New York on March 11, 2009. I think it would even be worth a bit of traveling and staying the night at a New York City hotel to see the concert. Some fans don't think Britney's ready to take on such a demanding workload right now but others think it will be the best comeback she could ever make. Hopefully the star will be able to handle it, after all her life has been going pretty smoothly over the past several months.
