No Easter Hunt This Year - Racist Watermelon Photo Results In Resignation

Republican mayor of Los Alamitos CA, Dean Grose, sent out a racist email featuring the Whitehouse lawn covered in watermelons with the caption "No Easter Egg hunt this year." Watermelons carry a racist sentiment because they are linked with African American slaves who ate watermelon. Dean Grose has announced his resignation.
For all those who are worried that there will not be an annual Easter Egg Hunt at the website, there has been no such announcement and the Obama's are extremely likely to carry on the Easter tradition.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating how a domestic assault photo of Rihanna ended up posted on TMZ this morning. Somebody invaded the superstar's privacy by selling the photo to the online celebrity tabloid despite the fact that it was a personal picture taken by authorities the night of her beating.

It actually does not help Rihanna's case as lawyers can use the leaked photo to defend Chris Brown during court precedings. Chimpanzee Attack - Charla Nash and The 911 Call

Charla Nash was attacked and nearly killed by her friend Sandra Herold's 14-year-old chimpanzee pet Travis. Travis the chimp has starred in television commercials for Old Navy and Coca-Cola. The highly trained chimpanzee was treated more like a person by Stanford owner Sandra Herold who fed him lobster, steak, italian food, wine and desserts at the dinner table.

When Travis the chimp seemed upset this week Herold slipped some of the antidepressent Xanax into his tea. Sounds like a scene out of a dramatic movie doesn't it?

The 200 pound gorilla went crazy out of the blue attacking Herold's friend Charla Nash who was over at the house visiting. According to recent reports the chimp ripped off Charla Nash's face during the 12 minute long attack. Sandra Herold began stabbing the chimp in attempts to save her friend and called 911 for help. Here is the heartbreaking call for help:



Police shot Travis the chimp once they arrived on the scened and the chimp died. Not only was Travis the chimp fed Xanax but he was also suffering from Lyme disease. Instead of eating lobster and wine he should have been treated like a chimpanzee including treatment for his ailment. Is it really a surprise that an animal who behaves like a human resorted to animal behavior. I think not.

Victim Charla Nash is currently in hospital in critical condition with extensive injuries to her face. The chimps owner could possibly face criminal charges.

Before Jessica Simpson gained a few pounds her biggest worry in life was a bit of an acne problem that led her to become an acne treatment spokeswoman. The way she talks about her acne in the infomercial it was practically ruining her life.

Now that her acne is under control it's her weight she has to deal with. You'd think Simpson going from a size 2 to a 4 was a crime the way it's being played out in the media over the past couple of weeks.

The singer is so upset with the recent media attention regarding her weight that she's even had trouble performing at one recent concert, getting flustered in front of the audience and forgetting lyrics to one of her most popular country songs.

I'm not sure whether Jessica Simpson views her weight gain as a problem or not but if she treats the weight issue like she did her imperfect skin issue then she'll likely end up to be the next celebrity spokesperson for one of the major weight loss companies.

Buffalo Plane Crash Flight 3407

News of yesterday's Buffalo plane crash is topping today's headlines. The Continental connection Flight 3407 was headed to Buffalo when it crashed at 10:20 p.m. February 12, 2009, only 7 miles away from the Buffalo Niagara international Airport.

The airplane crashed directly into a neighborhood home, killing one person inside the house and injuring a mother and daughter. The neighbors described the crash as extremely loud, shaking the ground.

Tragically 49 passengers aboard Flight 3407 were killed in the crash among them was 9/11 widow Beverly Eckert, the wife of deceased Sean Rooney who was killed in the World Trade Center.

It is not yet known what caused the airplane to crash but Buffalo residents have reported that the airplane engine did not sound right and then fell silent before the plane nose dived.

With the recent amount of recent random plane crashes passengers should think about getting international travel insurance to protect their loves ones in case of an unforeseen tragedy.

Out of all of the episodes of Wife Swap that I've seen, none of the husbands were as horrible as Stephen Fowler. Stephen Fowler is rude, arrogant, and condescending and what's even worse is that it's okay with his wife. This couple is disgusting. I felt so sorry for the mom who had to listen to Fowler call her fat and stupid during the length of the show. She was a lovely woman who is a hundred thousand times classier than the Fowler family. I can't believe she stuck it out, how anyone could be in the same room with Stephen Fowler for than 2 seconds is beyond me.

One of tonight's top Internet searches is for "Mommy Dearest." Wow, how that brings back some scary memories of the 1981 "Mommy Dearest" movie starring actress Faye Dunaway.

"Mommie Dearest" is based on the famous actress Joan Crawford and the abuse she inflicted on adopted child Christina Crawford. The movie is absolutely chilling and to think it's based on a true story.

Christina Crawford also wrote a book about her childhood called "Mommie Dearest: A True Story."

Dr. Phil Show - Octoplet Mom February 11, 2009

Today's Dr. Phil show featured Nadya Suleman's story. Nadya Suleman is the single mother of the newborn octuplets and her decision to have eight more children when she already had six she could barely care for has created a huge debate on whether or not a woman with multiple children should be able to receive fertility treatments.

Although Nadya Suleman's lawyer tried to convince Dr. Phil and the viewing audience that Nadya Suleman is a loving mother who has done nothing wrong, Dr. Phil wasn't buying it.

He played videos of Nadya Suleman's mother's small three bedroom house where she will be raising her fourteen children. The video showed how the six children that live there now are living in crowded, cluttered conditions. Suleman's mother Angela who is exhausted from taking care of the Nadya's first six kids is not happy with her daughter's decision to keep all of the children when she has no job or future plans of financial security.


Nadya Suleman has admitted to wanting so many children to fulfill her personal needs. Dr. Phil is questioning whether or not Nadya Suleman should be allowed to keep the octuplets when she does not make good decisions.

Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate Plus Eight appeared on the show to talk about the hardships of raising multiples. She told Dr. Phil that it took a team of 50 volunteers a week to care for the sextuplets during the first year. Kate Goslin said she is very organized and determined and is worried that Nadya Suleman will not receive the help she needs.

Rescued! 22 Dogs In Car - Owner Suffered From Dementia

22 dogs found locked in a car with their owner were rescued by Texas authorities. The 20 dogs and 2 puppies were living in a filthy station wagon that was covered in urine and feces. Authorities do not yet know why the woman was keeping 22 dogs in a car.

Neigbors of the owner, Lisa Espil, reported the woman after she and the 22 dogs had been living in the car for two week. Lisa Espil was evicted two weeks ago and had no where to go, she suffers from dementia and neighbors felt sorry for the woman.

All 22 dogs have been taken to an animal shelter and Lisa Espil has not been charged. She is now in the care of adult protective services.

I can't believe that it took two weeks for the neighbors to report Lisa Espil and her carload of dogs, if they felt sorry for the woman they should have called right away!

Chris Brown Arrested - Rihanna Cancels Grammy Appearance - Bruised Face

Last night 20-year-old singer Rihanna canceled her Grammy Awards appearance and so did her long time boyfriend Chris Brown, 19. Instead of spending the night celebrating Brown was arrested on "criminal threat charges." He is also being investigated for an alleged assault on an unidentified female."

Since sources say that Rihanna's face was bruised the media suspects that she is the unidentified female who called the police after the alleged attack.

Chris Brown is currently out of jail on $50,000 bail. We will have to wait for further updates on this story to find out what actually happened before the Grammy Awards and whether or not Rihanna was involved.

Actor James Whitmore Dies At The Age Of 87

James Whitmore who was known for being the "King of the One Man Show" and last year publicly supported Barack Obama's presidential campaign. On January 4, 2008 he gave a speech in the support of Obama saying he was "mad as hell" and that he wasn't "going to take it anymore."



Whitmore began acting in the 1940's and had 4 wives during his lifetime including Audra Lindley who played the role of Mrs. Roper on the hit 70's sitcom "Three's Company." He succumbed to lung cancer today at the age of 87, leaving behind his wife Noreen Nash.

This morning I turned on the news and heard that 590,000 jobs were lost in the United States in January 2009 and that the unemployment rate is currently at 7.6% which is the worst it's been in 34 years.

News reports are now saying that the current recession is just the tip of the iceberg. We are headed towards the next great depression. This of course is horrible news. The most important thing that people can do right now is save their money for emergencies, pay off debt if they are able to, stock up on food, begin growing a backyard garden, and learn to live on a tight budget.

Although many people are cutting back and getting frugal there are still people that seem to be in total denial of the economic crisis. They are still spending money like water, racking up their credit cards and eating out every night with no concern for the future.

For those of you who are interested in learning how to save money there are many great websites devoted to the subject. Just do a Google search for "frugal" or "frugal living" and you'll find some information to get you started. People can learn a lot right now from those families who are experienced thrifty living.

Etta James Hates Beyonce - Which Singer Does a Better Job With "At Last"

71-year-old Etta James let loose at a recent concert performance telling the audience "I can't stand Beyonce." Seems like Etta James isn't too happy that Beyonce sang her signature song "At Last" for President Obama and his wife at the Inauguration Ball. Or maybe she's upset that Beyonce did such a fabulous job.

CNN.com has been featuring many stories of families who have been affected by the current economic crisis. Today there is a story about Vanessa Cooreman Smith and her husband Steve who have had to sell their house by the lake in order to keep her business going during the recession.

It was the Vanessa's dream to run her own successful store and she is doing everything possible to keep the Flourish Boutique going despite slowing sales. The Indiana couple and their son have moved to a smaller home with affordable mortgage payments.

The key to survival of both businesses owners and those who are just working a job to make ends meet seems to be to cut back as much as possible. This couple is lucky that they were able to downsize into a cheaper home because unfortunately there are many families who are unable to sell their home in the current real estate market.

Miley Cyrus is making headlines once again for yet another questionable photo. But this time it's not a sexy picture that's caught the public question but a racially insensitive picture where she's mimicking Asian features by making her eyes appear slanted.

She's not the only one making the gesture in the photo, her group of teenage friends were all joining in as well. The photo is ticking off quite a few people, especially Asians. Of course what she did was rude and insensitive but she is after all only 16-years-old. Teenagers aren't known for thinking things through before they do them, she's bound to make some stupid mistakes along the way.

I was shocked today when I listened to the Christian Bale tirade audio tape. The famous actor who starred in box office hits that include Batman Begins, American Psycho, 3:10 To Yuma, and The Dark Night was on the set of his latest movie Terminator Salvation when one of the crew members stepped in the wrong place at the wrong time.

By the way 35-year-old Bale responded you would have thought that the world had come to an end. He made sure to put the unknown man down in as many ways as possible in three minutes. Groundhog Day 2009 - Phil Predicts 6 More Weeks Of Winter

The most famous groundhog in the world Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow just after dawn on Groundhog Day, February 2, 2009 which means six more weeks of cold winter weather until spring finally arrives.

The Punxsutawney Groundhog Day tradition has been around since 1887 and in all of these years only 15 early springs have been predicted by Phil the groundhog. So I guess we shouldn't be too surprised that the 2009 winter isn't ready to melt away just yet.
