America's Cheapest Family Shares Tips On Today's Dr. Phil Show


America's Cheapest family shares frugal tips on today's Dr. Phil Show, March 2, 2009. Their are five frugal members of the Economides family who own a five bedroom house with a swimming pool and indulge in designer clothing found in second hand stores.

They share all of their shopping secrets in their book "America's Cheapest Family Gets You Right on the Money: Your Guide to Living Better."

Dr. Phil gave the family a thrift store shopping challenge by giving them $75.00 for an outfit for each of them. The family bought 13 items for a couple of dollars over the budget and demonstrated that thrift store shopping is the way to go when you're looking to save money.

After a thrift show fashion show demonstrated that you can look fashionable on a budget some helpful thrift store tips were shared on the Dr. Phil show:

1) Know prices before visiting the thrift store to be sure you're getting a good buy.

2) Check out electronics to make sure their working, and check if there is a 24 hour return policy on purchased items.

3) Look for a thrift store area in a high end area where you'll find high end items and designer clothing.

4) Don't forget to donate your used items to the thrift shop when your done for them so someone else can get a great deal.
